Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz @ Bowery Ballroom

As a group very politically active/rooted in social justice, Speedy Ortiz lead singer/guitarist and Barnard alum Sadie Dupuis is one of the featured guest speakers at the free Barnard College event Queering the Music Industry (3/25) at 6PM. Joining her is Homoground podcast founder Lynn Casper, Nick Passarelli of Terrorbird Media (who represent acts like Bikini Kill, Le Tigre, and Zola Jesus), and performances/words from Brooklyn DIY acts Laetitia Tamko of Vagabon and Adult Mom‘s Steph Knife.

Vagabon @ Silent Barn

In-between their homecoming show with Dr. Dog and their joint tour with Hop Along, Speedy Ortiz are playing the intimate Brooklyn bar/venue Union Hall (4/24) in celebration of Griff and Joe’s Earth Day Earthtacular. While the show is promising some surprise guests, the confirmed acts include Brooklyn-based comedian and actress Sharron Paul and Thing X’s Matt Beacon.
