Laden with infectious electronica riffs and classic video game beats, Kero Kero Bonito’s brand of sucrose-sweet synth pop tackles poignant lyrical themes of the 21st century ranging from selfie culture on “Picture This!” to femininity on “Sick Beat”. With vocalist Sarah Midori Perry’s unparalleled flow, seamlessly transitioning between English and Japanese, she is backed by producers Gus Lobban and Jamie Bulled who provide the 8-bit backdrop to their aesthetic.
The band will be performing as part of the CMJ Music Marathon this year on Tuesday, Oct 13 at Palisades which is currently sold-out, but they have added a show on Monday, Oct 12 with support from Princess Nokia, Jerry Paper, Maxo, and DV-i (DJ).
Tickets for Oct 12 Available Here
