The Canadian Polaris Music Prize has just announced it’s short list of nominees for this year’s award. Starting with about 40 artists, a jury of more than 200 Canadian music journalists, bloggers and broadcasters has released their top 10 records from the previous year. Among them are indie favorites like Viet Cong and Alvvays, as well as rap icons like Ghostface Killah and Drake. While this is his third year being nominated, with previous albums “Take Care” and “Nothing Was the Same” on the short lists for their respective years, Drake has yet to receive the award.
